Individual Counselling
Ready for change? I use evidence-based therapies to help you feel better. Therapy services for adults, or youth aged 16+. Available online and in-person.
I strive to provide a space that feels welcoming and comfortable. I use an integrated therapy approach to address issues like low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and grief. My practice is centred around encouraging my clients to slow down, and recognize what is happening inside and around them.
I use techniques from a somatic lens to help process the “body memory” of fear, anxiety, and stress. Somatic therapy has been found to reduce symptoms of PTSD, depression, and anxiety, while improving one’s sense of wellbeing and control¹.
The work I do is grounded in Humanistic and Positive Psychology practices. My goal is to move beyond negative symptom reduction, and help my clients establish a more fulfilling, pleasurable life for themselves. Person-Centred Therapy offers a compelling starting point for this, as it de-centers diagnoses and pathology, and focuses on uncovering inner desires and values². Additionally, Positive Psychology orients us to build on existing strengths, and indulge in small joys and gratitude³. My work is also influenced by Feminist theory and mindfulness practices.
With teenagers and youth, I believe healing and growth comes from the quality of the relationship we establish with one another. My approach with youth is therefore highly relational, and I seek to nurture their interests in session, while incorporating my own therapeutic interventions. I use games, art, and conversation to explore and connect.
The values that guide my practice:
